Kyndra Steffes began her nursing career early, working as a volunteer candy striper at her local hospital through middle school.
“Geriatrics was always my area of passion. Right out of nursing school, I worked in assisted living, homecare, and hospice environments,” she says. “I love hearing the stories from my older patients. I learn from them, and from their experiences.”
As a hospice case manager, Kyndra focused on chronic symptom management and end-of-life care. But her work has always meant more than working with patients on their physical health.
“A big reason I am attracted to working with senior patients is that I want to make sure they are not neglected in our healthcare system,” says Kyndra. “Just because they are older, doesn’t mean they don’t have the same quality of life goals that we all have.”
Since completing her masters and graduate programs in nursing, Kyndra has worked in a variety of roles throughout the Twin Cities. She is excited to join Consultative Health, and to be part of our personalized care model.
“I was drawn to Consultative Health because of its focus on working together with patients, facilities and families,” she says. “We are all making sure we provide the best care possible.”
When she is not working, Kyndra loves to stay active, and enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, their bulldog and two kittens.
